Lots of concert news this week!!! For starters, TLC surviving members “T-Boz” and “Chilli” announced that the group would go on their first U.S. tour in nine years, in honor of the late ‘Left Eye,’ who was killed in a tragic car crash exactly ten years ago this week. It was a happy ending this week for Tom Petty and his band, when five of their stolen guitars, valued at over $100,000, were found, and a thief, busted. It all began when Petty and company were rehearsing in Culver City, California for their tour, which began Wednesday. At some point, the guitars were swapped from the sound stage and as a result, Petty had to spend around $100,000 to replace them, just in case they weren’t found. Just before last Christmas, it became rumored that Justin Timberlake had proposed to Jessica Biel while they were in Jackson, Wyoming. Poor J-Lo. First, her marriage to Marc Anthony goes from on the rocks to over. And now, her reality show with Marc, called “Q’Viva: The Chosen,” has been moved by FOX from Saturday prime time (8 PM EST) to Saturday late (11 PM EST), because of bad ratings. Pretty sad news to begin with this week. Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, has made it known that she wants to lose the “Brown” in her last name because of her Dad, Bobby. The story goes that she’s wanted to do so for quite awhile, but that Whitney would never let her do it. I’m not even going to touch this on what my opinion is, but rather, just state that it’s unfortunate these types of relationships exist around the world in parent-child relationships. After having my home robbed to the tune of over $5,000 in losses last summer (during ironically, the NKOTBSB concert I attended!!!), I am very sympathetic to anyone who is a victim of theft. So with that said, it made me angry to see that Brian Littrell of Backstreet Boys had over $120,000 worth of jewelry stolen from his hotel room in Stone Mountain, Georgia last week. And what’s even worse was that one of the items stolen was his wife Leighanne’s ENGAGEMENT RING, valued at $110,000. Two things stand out here. When I was a kid, SWV’s “Right Here/Human Nature Remix” was one of my favorite songs.
