After having my home robbed to the tune of over $5,000 in losses last summer (during ironically, the NKOTBSB concert I attended!!!), I am very sympathetic to anyone who is a victim of theft.

So with that said, it made me angry to see that Brian Littrell of Backstreet Boys had over $120,000 worth of jewelry stolen from his hotel room in Stone Mountain, Georgia last week. And what’s even worse was that one of the items stolen was his wife Leighanne’s ENGAGEMENT RING, valued at $110,000.

Two things stand out here. One, $110,000 must be a heck of a nice engagement ring… Wow! And two… That ring must be (wait for it)…… LARGER THAN LIFE (zing)!

To be serious, let’s hope they find the losers who did this soon.

Next, we go to one of the emails I got at daveo@roundtripwithdaveo.com and discuss the rock band Lit, who became famous for “My Own Worst Enemy” back in the 90’s. Miranda in Flagstaff writes:

“Wasn’t it Lit who had a group member die and what are they doing now?”

First of all, thank you for the e-mail, Miranda.

Unfortunately, yes, Lit lost their drummer, Allen Shellenberger, to a brain tumor back in 2009. He was only 39 years old and taken way too soon.

However, the band continues to forge on, keeping him in their thoughts with whatever they do, and they’re excited to announce that they have a new album coming out on June 19th, 2012. So get your I Phones or Evo’s out of your pocket and mark that down on your calendar, so you can pick it up! And be looking for Lit to join us on an episode of Round Trip around that time.

Last, a quick update on Goo Goo Dolls, who we last heard from on the soundtrack for Transformers: Dark of the Moon last summer. They have most of the material for a new album done and hope to have a new album out, from what I’m told, by the end of this year/early 2013. Love the Goo’s!

Until next time, keep livin’ the 90’s dream
