I have to start this week by giving Mary J. Blige “a lot of love”. Or, to stay with the theme of the ’90’s, some “real love”.
Earlier this week, TMZ broke that Mary J. Blige’s charity, Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women, was being sued for over a quarter of a million dollars! That’s right, over $250 smackers, based on a loan that was taken out a year ago.
From how things sound at time of publish, it seems as though Mary J. Blige put the wrong people in charge of the money and thus, the loan never got repaid. She has publicly stated it was her fault for having the wrong people in charge and that she will remedy things.
To me, that is very impressive. No excuses, no pointing fingers, but rather, “my bad, we’ll make it right.” Props to Mary for doing the right thing, both in this case and for working with this awesome charity in the first place!
