RHCP, Sinead & More

It’s Super Bowl Weekend and we couldn’t be more excited about seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers performing during halftime of “the big game!” And in true RHCP form, they are taking an exciting performance and making it even better, as drummer Chad Smith will be auctioning off his custom drum set for charity. The proceeds will go to the “Make-A-Wish Foundation,” which is doing as much for kids as anyone. Thank you Chad for doing this and thank you Bruno Mars for inviting RHCP to join you on the field during the Pepsi Halftime show in the first place!!! Should be a memorable show. Next, Read More …

Prince, 90210 & More

One song that we should probably play more on Round Trip is “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” by Prince. Although technically, I think it was by “symbol” at that time (sorry, my keyboard can’t make the appropriate marks, so we’ll just call him “symbol”). Why do I randomly bring up “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World?” A. It’s a kick butt ’90’s pop song but: B. Prince is on my mind because it was just announced that he is going to be appearing on an episode of “New Girl” following the Super Bowl in just one week! Here’s the official description of Read More …

Mariah, Valentine’s Day & More

Welcome to 2014!! Hard to believe we’re already into the thick of winter and before we know it, it’ll be Valentine’s Day again! And leave it to none other than Mariah Carey to make February 14th the best Valentine’s Day in the history for one lucky couple. To be exact, Mariah recently announced that she will fly one lucky couple to HER HOUSE… from ANYWHERE in the world… and she’ll play a private romantic concert for them. Think of it – all her great 90’s songs, for just you and yours – songs like “Hero,” “Dreamlover,” “Fantasy,” “Butterfly,” “Honey,” “Make It Happen” and “Anytime You Read More …

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year

As many businesses go, our website developer and content team are taking some much deserved time off over the next two weeks to spend with their family. So, I wanted to sneak in a quick entry before they did and wish you and yours both Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! This is such a special time of the year and I sincerely hope you’re able to spend it with family and/or those closest to you. It’s cheesy to say this, but give them all a hug and tell them how much they mean to you, and “soak up” every minute you have with Read More …

Green Day, Heart & More

We start this middle of December edition with both good and bad news for Green Day fans. We’ll start with the bad, as the band has decided they’ll “take a break to unwind” following the Australian leg of their tour in March. The good news is that they will “recharge their batteries” and be ready to go at it bigger and better than ever afterward, so this is NOT the end of Green Day as we know it! I’d also like to say that I find Billie Joe to be a pretty big inspiration, both as an artist and how he’s overcome substance abuse problems Read More …

Semisonic, Live & More

Our “Turkey Day” edition of “Back In The Day Buzz” begins with perhaps the most exciting news we’ve heard in awhile – that Ed Kowalczyk (formerly of Live) is touring again (with Toad The Wet Sprocket) and putting out new material, including the album “The Flood and The Mercy” and the single “Seven.” To refresh, Kowalcyzk was the lead singer of Live from 1988-2009 when things got ugly and the other three members of Live decided to “take legal action” against Kowalczyk who in turn, said he would “never work with them again, either.” The band has since moved on and luckily, so has Kowalczyk, Read More …

Boy Band Edition

We thought it would be a lot longer after the VMA”s before ‘N Sync reunited again. However, it wasn’t long at all, as the boys got together again last week at group member Chris Kirkpatrick ‘s wedding in Orlando! Kirkpatrick married the woman who has quite possibly the coolest sounding name I have ever heard – Karly Skladany (29 years old). The pair got engaged last year and enjoyed quite a memorable wedding weekend, according to Kirkpatrick’s twitter. “Great weekend with old friends and family! Happiest time of my life! #offthemarket. Best wedding advice from JT, and then partied til 3 AM singing with Joey Read More …

Vanilla Ice, J-Lo & More

I’ve been hearing the hype for a few months now, but have finally seen it for myself – “Vanilla Ice Goes Amish!” No, it’s not a Weird Al song and no, it’s not a children’s book (thank God)! It’s a legitimate TV show on the DIY Network, and features Vanilla Ice spending two months living in a rural Amish community in Ohio. Who would have ever thunk it, Vanilla Ice doing a reality show in 2013? What’s more, who would have thought it would actually be highly entertaining? Definitely recommend you check it out – ‘Ice seems like a really cool dude. He’s still fairly Read More …

Bon Jovi, TLC & More

As an obsessed sports fan, I can totally relate to an Australian woman named Branda Delic, whose “life was made” this past weekend as Jon Bon Jovi walked her down the aisle. A reaction of “Wait… what?” is quite appropriate in this case, so let’s explain. Apparently, Delic created a Facebook page with a request to have Bon Jovi do exactly what he ended up doing – walking her down the aisle. She is a mega fan and got over 2,000 likes, which helped the media catch wind of the story and ultimately, pass it on to Bon Jovi. As fate would have it, he Read More …

Alanis, Mandy & Mo(o)re (Get It?!?)

This edition of “Back In The Day Buzz” begins with claims against Alanis Morissette that I find quite hard to believe. If you missed it, Alanis is being sued for approximately $30,000 by a former nanny who alleges that the “Ironic” star owes her lots of back pay for overtime, touring, working seven days in a row, etc. The lady is named Bianca Cambeiro and says she was paid $25 an hour to take care of Alanis’ son, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway. Shifts were almost always 12 hours in a row, she says, with lunch breaks often denied and touring going on seven days in a Read More …
