Happy Thanksgiving

We take a week off from the latest in 90’s news to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving! This year, more than ever, we encourage you to treasure each moment you get with family and make sure they know how you feel about them. The more the years go by, the more important family becomes, as they’re our only true link to the past and a rock we can always count on. It’s easy to get “lost” in the weeks and years as they pass by with a blink of an eye, but our goal is to help you realize to “slow things down” Read More …

Britney, Kris Kross & More

How would you like to read a new book written by Britney Spears? Seems fascinating, right? I mean think of the possibilities – a look inside her life, both then and now, from touring to family issues to X Factor judging to children and everything in between. But actually, Brit is in talks to write a fiction novel about a pop star. AKA, she’s probably going to write all true stuff but call it fiction, since we’ll never know the difference! Haha. No firm announcement on when this will happen yet, but rumors say early 2013. Apparently, this will be the second fiction book from Read More …

R.I.P. Natina Reed

We start this edition with some very, very, very sad and sombering news – Natina Reed, a singer from the group Blaque and actress from the 2000 movie “Bring It On,” tragically passed away last Friday night outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Reed was only 32 years old. Reed is survived by her son Tren, just ten years of age, and scores of lives she touched along the way. That’s because from all accords, Reed was a charismatic woman who had a number of friends in many places. To me, what makes this especially hard is the nature of how the death occurred. Apparently Reed was Read More …

Green Day, Train & More

CSI: NY has become my favorite television show, and I DVR it every single Friday night. So, it was interesting last night to watch the first ever episode where entire scenes were free of dialogue, and instead, used the music of Green Day. I don’t want to spoil too much of the episode because you can certainly Hulu it or find it on CBS’ website, but on this week’s show, a political candidate is murdered, and during a few scenes, you hear a few different Greenday songs from their new albums Uno!, Dos! and Tre! Hope you get a chance to watch the show if Read More …

TLC, Creed & More

It has been quite the journey for “T-Boz” of TLC throughout the last six years. First, in 2006, T-Boz (real name Tionne Watkins) had a brain tumor that threatened her life. Many felt as though even if she recovered, she wouldn’t ever be the same. Then, T-Boz filed for bankruptcy late last year, which was in large part because of her medical bills and obviously, TLC no longer being active as a group. Well that’s all changing, with TLC doing shows again AND T-Boz now having her own reality show on…….. wait for it…… TLC! That’s right, TLC will be on TLC. The show is Read More …

Smash Mouth, Green Day & More

Nick, Lisa & More

This is a few days late, but CONGRATULATIONS to Nick and Vanessa Lachey on the birth of their first child, Camden John! Both parents are extremely happy and say that their son will be spoiled more than any son in the history. From my encounters with Nick, I can agree with this, as he is a very gracious, down to earth and fun guy. However, a bone to pick with Nick…. QUIT TEASING US 98 Degrees fans!!! It seems as though every six months, he sends a tweet hinting at a new album, or a reunion tour, and then it never happens. Who knows, maybe Read More …

Coolio, BSB & More

What an exciting time to be a Backstreet Boys fan, as they enter their 20th anniversary as a group! First of all, Kevin Richardson rejoined the group last year after exiting in 2006 to focus on a solo career. Second of all, the boys are currently working on a new album, which will come out in mid-2013 and be the first album with all five members featured since 2006 (when Richardson left!) Finally, and most exciting to me, you will soon be allowed to be graced with the Backstreet Boys presence next time you are on Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, California. That’s right, BSB will Read More …

Top 20 Boy Band Hits

This edition of “Back In The Day Buzz” will not consist of ’90’s news, for once, since we’ve gotten around thirty e-mails in the past seven and a half months asking about “The Top 20 Boy Band Hits of the 90’s.” If you’ll recall, last New Year’s, we were joined by Howie D of the Backstreet Boys as a special co-host as we counted down the Top 20 Boy Band Hits of the 90’s. Many Round Trip listeners and diehard Backstreet Boys fans have since written to me, asking if we’d publish the music from that countdown. At first, I didn’t feel like that many Read More …

Alanis, P. Diddy & More

It seems like every single day, there’s different news on Ameican Idol. First, it was Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler not returning as judges. Then, Mariah Carey was hired in place of Jennifer Lopez. Her salary seemingly changed with every news report. Next, we heard rumors of P. Diddy taking over for Steven Tyler. Then, it was John Mayer. Now, whose on first? Well, the latest rumor shows Alanis Morissette taking over, and the way things sound, this could be a done deal by the time this story publishes. I’d LOVE to see Alanis get a chance to judge. To me, she is the most Read More …
