Lou Bega Interview

If you listened to the radio this weekend in 1999, you likely couldn’t have gone an hour without hearing “Mambo No 5” from Lou Bega. The song was a literal worldwide sensation and helped Bega get nominated for a Grammy. Bega followed up the Mambo Magic with the single “Tricky Tricky,” which also did quite well on the pop charts. These days, Lou Bega has a new album out (“Free Again”) and is living in Germany.

Dave O recently SKYPED with Bega and found out a number of previously unknown things about “Mambo No 5,” from information about the female names in it to the bizarre story of two different videos shot for it, to where the song came from. Hope you’ll listen and get to know one of the true characters and good guys in music!
