Rest in Peace, Prince

princeMy oh my, my oh my, what a sad day, as we lost Prince Rogers Nelson WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too soon, at the age of 57…

This one is really difficult for me to write, just as it was when 90’s icons Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston passed on…

I never got the opportunity to see Prince perform in person, nor did I get the chance to interview him… Those are big regrets for me but most of all, so is the fact that he is no longer on this earth…

Luckily, his music lives on – and it’s quite amazing to go back over his discography and realize all the hits he had, PLUS the AMAZING number of songs he wrote or had a hand in producing… Unreal.

Prince is one of the last of his kind – honest to God, he really is… that’s what makes this so sad.

An eccentric guy who seemed very private, we never got to know Prince as a person as much as we did many other pop stars… and maybe that’s what helped to make him so appealing – the mystery… His heyday came well before social media and the Internet, so it was quite easy to be that way moreso than today… I suspect that’s part of the reason there will never be another guy like him.

Rumors are flying that there are HUNDREDS of unreleased Prince songs in a literal VAULT in his house… but no will, no surviving children or spouses, it’ll be interesting to see what comes of them…

One thing is for certain – we will miss him… but we will always take his music with us.

RIP Prince – one of the best.
