Dave O’ Reflects On Where The VMA’s Went Wrong

I thought I would write a reflective edition of “Back In The Day Buzz” this time around – though I suppose since this is a 90’s show, they’re ALL reflective.

As I watched the MTV VMA’s last night, I couldn’t help but think to myself: “Wow… this show really isn’t what it used to be. It’s gone majorly downhill. And I don’t know if they can ever get it back to where it once was.”

To be more specific, Miley Cyrus’ performance was AWFUL last night, as was the completely obvious “wardrobe malfunction” that was obviously planned and contrived well before the event itself. Come on, seriously?!? That’s what you have to do for attention and to try and garner ratings for this show?

That, plus the talk of weed, f bombs and awkward sex motions had me missing 1990’s VMA’s, when the show was first getting going and still more about the MUSIC more so than the THEATRICS.

Yes, I’m aware that this makes me sound incredibly old but if you’re reading this note, you’re obviously a 90’s aficionado and thus, likely agree with me.

With all that of that said, I enjoyed this article and photo gallery, reflecting on the VMA’s twenty years ago… in 1995!

Enjoy in the link below and until next time, keep livin’ the 90’s dream!
