My excitement level was difficult to contain this past week when I found out that “The Boy Is Mine” by Brandy & Monica will be re-recorded and re-released… By 2014 artists Jessie J and Ariana Grande!!!
For somebody who LOVES the original, and also thinks very highly of the two new pop stars recording the remake, this couldn’t be any more amazing.
It will definitely be interesting to see what kind of success the remake will have, too, because “The Boy Is Mine” spent 13 weeks at #1 back in 1998 on the Billboard Hot 100. No word on the exact release date yet, but we’re assuming early 2015.
Next, staying with the 90’s female pop star theme, Britney Spears has a new boyfriend named Charlie Ebersol, and he has been forced to sign a confidentiality agreement…. before ever dating her!
I suppose it makes sense, considering so many use Britney for her name and financial gain but how sad is it that a new man has to agree to keep everything a complete secret and go through enough paperwork that it seems like he’s buying a car?!?!? Apparently this went down before they even technically met and went out. Haha. Imagine what you would do if you met someone at a bar and that was the qualification to go through before landing the digits. 🙂
Last, a quick update on Toad The Wet Sprocket, who are currently celebrating TWENTY FIVE YEARS!!! as a band by touring and putting out new music.
As a matter of fact, this weekend they’re in Wichita, Denver and Aspen for shows, and their new album is available on iTunes and called “New Constellation.”
