MJ, Jay-Z/Beyonce’ & More

We told you about Michael Jackson and his NEW ALBUM “Xscape” a few weeks back (which is now out, as of Tuesday) and now, something just as exciting is happening – Michael Jackson is coming back to TELEVISION in a big way!!

While we can’t give you all the details at this time (since we don’t know them), this will just be a tease, BUT, this weekend (Sunday night) at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, the Estate of Michael Jackson will show a world premier experience of him that they have developed. I am one who is completely obsessed with Michael’s music, “celebrating his whole catalog” (to quote Office Space), so I will be glued to my TV on Sunday night!

Speaking of Sunday night, it’s no doubt that Jay-Z & Beyonce will be in the house as well, even after the big stir that occurred earlier this week.

In case you missed it, TMZ broke video of Jay-Z, Beyonce, her sister (Solange) and their bodyguard in an elevator of the Standard Hotel in New York City. And what ensued afterward was purely tough to watch, as Solange often yelled at Jay-Z, struck him with her hand and foot and even with the bodyguard holding her back. Restraint wasn’t enough and this went on for over three minutes, with the bodyguard even hitting the “emergency stop” button on the elevator to try and cool things off before anyone outside the elevator saw.

Unfortunately, it’s 2014 and media services that we are addicted to like TMZ still seem to always find every little negative thing, so this is out and about now released publicly. It’ll be interesting to see how Jay and Beyonce address this – as I write, there is no public mention yet. Also, it’ll be fascinating to see if and how this changes the perception of the seemingly “perfect couple.” My guess is that this could have just been a normal argument that we all have with our friends and loved ones, perhaps induced by alcohol (as it was an after party) and as such, not near as big of a deal as the media is making it out to be. But again, dirty laundry is aired when you are a celebrity!

One other fun thing to note – not only have we heard from Crystal Waters, Robin S. and Merril Bainbridge in recent weeks, but I’ve also booked an interview with Blind Melon co-founder Rogers Stevens! It will be a fascinating trip down memory lane as we discuss the good old days, the tragic death of lead singer Shannon Hoon and Stevens recently graduating from Penn Law School! Look for him to join the show in mid to late June.

Until next time, take care, and keep livin’ the 90’s dream!!
