The Movie Update Edition

Last week, I told you how enamored I was with the upcoming movie “Runner, Runner” starring Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck. I expected that to be the last time I mentioned movies in this section of the website for awhile but for the first time ever, this space will be completely dedicated to 90’s stars who are appearing in future movies, as I keep finding more and more who are doing so! And that’s a good thing, folks – I like seeing our old school faves on the big screen.

First, Justin Timberlake is in YET ANOTHER movie coming out soon, and he’s playing a folk singer!

The flick is called “Inside Llewyn Davis” and stars Carey Mulligan, Garett Hedlund, Oscar Isaac, JT and many more. It’s a Coen brothers film and also has a huge role played by an orange tabby cat!!! That makes “Round Trip” furry friend “The Egotistical Prize Cat” very, very excited!

Next, Lenny Kravitz will be starring (along with the likes of John Cusack and Forest Whitaker) in the movie “The Butler,” which looks REALLY interesting. It’s based on true events and is the story of a White House Butler and things he witnesses throughout his times in the nation’s capital. It’ll be cool to see Lenny in another movie after “The Hunger Games” in 2012 (note: he’ll be in the newest film in that series late this year, too).

Finally, Mary J. Blige will be in quite the drama (from how it appears) this fall, as “Black Nativity” hits big screens throughout the U.S. The film stars Blige, Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson and many more.

As IMDB sums up the film: “A street-wise teen from Baltimore who has been raised by a single mother travels to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday…. where he embarks on a surprising and inspirational journey.”

So there you have it, seemingly every 90’s artist appearing in a movie throughout the next few months. Luckily I didn’t google J-Lo or I’m sure this post would be even longer! Haha.

Until next time, take care, and keep livin’ the 90’s dream!!!
