‘N Sync, TLC & More

nss

In case you live underneath a rock :), we want to begin this week by following up on our VMA story from seven days ago. And while it didn’t require me going out on much of a limb in predicting so, I’m proud to say that I nailed my forecast!

That is, I said that ‘N Sync would most likely get together briefly on the VMA’s for a performance as Justin Timberlake accepted a solo VMA for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, but that there would not be any plans for a reunion tour or new music anytime soon. Both things were confirmed on Sunday night.

However, I was wrong on one aspect of the night, because if you would have asked me off of the record, I would have told you JT wasn’t the reason this VMA appearance would happen, because I’d heard in the past (from reliable sources) that he had ZERO interest in doing anything with his former group mates. But as vaunted college football analyst Lee Corso always says: “Not so fast, my friends!”

That’s because according to quotes from J.C. Chasez, it was in fact JUSTIN’S IDEA to have this whole thing occur!!

“Justin gave me a buzz and he said, ‘Hey man, listen. I’m getting this award and they have given me a pile of time to perform and we started our careers on MTV and I think we should get the band back together.”

No word on if and when the “band will get back together” – I’m guessing it WILL happen one day, but my next prediction is it doesn’t occur until mid-2015. We shall see.

Next, staying on the topic of the VMA’s, we saw the official trailer for the first time of the new movie that comes out October 21st about TLC, called “Crazysexycool: The TLC Movie.” The film looks very comprehensive and details the lives of the group members as they rise to fame, endure tough times and get back on their feet again. We first told you about this a few months back but it was great to finally see the trailer!!!

Last, a quick update on Lisa Loeb, who we had several months back as a guest here on “Round Trip (BTW, to hear that interview, simply click on 90S CONNECTIONS at the top of this page).

Lisa is now writing a blog for people.com that details her journey as a parent!

I don’t have any kids yet (that I know of!!!) but even I’ve enjoyed perusing her entries, which are written in a very honest and informative manner. Here’s a few article titles – if you have kids, a MUST read!:

“My First Year as a Mom of Two,” “My Not-So-Cute Costume Ideas for My Kids” and “Meet My Son Emet.”

Simply log onto people.com and search LISA LOEB at the top, and you’ll find a ton of entries under the “Babies” section.

That’s all we’ve got for this edition – until next time, take care, and keep livin’ the 90’s dream!
