STP, No Doubt & More

So is Stone Temple Pilots lead singer & founder Scott Weiland “fired” from the band or not? At this point, who knows what to believe, because both sides keep reporting conflicting stories, AND “lawyers” are getting involved.

But let’s flash back a bit – around ten days ago, a story came out on various websites, including TMZ, saying that Weiland had been “dismissed” from the very band he founded because of feuding between himself and the rest of the group.

He even released this statement:

“I learned of my supposed ‘termination’ from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press. Not sure how I can be ‘terminated’ from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that’s something for my lawyers to figure out.”

So at that point, you had to believe it was official.

However, in the days since, Weiland has said the firing story is not accurate and he’s very much still with the band. The band has kept mainly quiet.

This whole situation is very, very odd and we’ll keep you updated on it. It’s always hard to know who to believe, since various media outlets keep reporting different things.

Next, how about some good news in regards to No Doubt, who joins the recent trend of ’90’s artists releasing new music?!?

The band recently announced that they have “temporarily suspended touring” in order to focus in the studio on a new album! And they’re extra excited because of the “ease” in which the music is flowing out of them. Reportedly, it took the band over three years to record its last album, and this one, started in mid-January, is already getting close to completion! As a diehard ’90’s fan, I am STOKED STOKED STOKED that all of these great bands are getting back together – let’s hope the trend continues.

While we’re on that topic, who do YOU wish would get back together from the 1990’s?
