Vanilla Ice, TEB & More

Perhaps you already knew this, but it came as a shocker to me the other night when I was laying on my couch, flipping through the TV and came across “The Vanilla Ice Project” (not too be confused with The Tony Rich Project).

No, The Vanilla Ice Project is not a new music group featuring the “Ice, Ice Baby” performer. Rather, it’s a home improvement show that is brought to you by DIY and HGTV.

You see, it seems that our old pal has “more than 15 years of home improvement experience due to his 7,000-square-foot Palm Beach Mansion.” He goes around helping others improve their homes and gives you pointers on what to NOT do, also. Have to admit, the show was quite entertaining and the DVR is set to record the series (shhh! Our secret).

Next, some bittersweet news for me, as a diehard Third Eye Blind fan, as Stephan Jenkins recently announced that Third Eye Blind’s new album will be their last.

Their isn’t an exact release date yet, but its expected to be this fall. Surprisingly, it’ll only be Third Eye Blind’s fifth studio album – I would have guessed they’d had more by now.

Last, a question about “The Package Tour”from Angie in Kansas City on our Twitter, @roundtrip90s.

“Do you know if NKOTB/Boyz II Men/98 Degrees will be coming to KC? Thanks.”

Angie, here’s what I can tell you, and its probably not much, but potentially good news.

The amazing New Kids/Boyz II Men/98 Degrees tour is booked through July 13th at the moment, and if tickets sell well (which they will), I’m told they will announce “further dates and another leg into August.” So while I have no idea if KC will be included, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t, based on the recent track record of that city getting big shows. Will definitely keep my ears open and you do the same!

That’s it for this week – hope you enjoy the Super Bowl and another weekend of nothin’ but 90’s hits on Round Trip!
