Kriss Kross, Gin Blossoms & More

Last week, we talked about the exciting news that Destiny’s Child and Justin Timberlake had brand new albums coming out.

And while we can’t say the same thing about Kris Kross, we CAN tell you that they are reuniting for at least one concert – the So So Def 20th Anniversary show next month in Atlanta! That’s right, Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly and Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith are a duo again, if only for a day. It’s funny that this is occurring, actually, since we got a Tweet asking about Kris Kross just a few weeks back.

One other thing to report on the Kris Kross matter – both STILL wear their pants backwards, as can be seen in recent photos all around the Internet!

(*** NOTE *** Xscape is also another 90’s group reuniting for the above show. They of course had “Just Kickin’ It” in 1993, which was written by none other than the man, the myth, the legend… Jermaine Dupri!).

Next, a scare was averted a few days ago by Gin Blossoms bass player Bill Leen, who collapsed during a live performance in New York. Apparently the band was playing “Hey Jealousy” when he fell over from what the band called “exhaustion.” Leen refused medical attention and continued playing just a few seconds later. Plus, the band is still on the road and he’s continued playing shows. Thus, hopefully it was just a freak accident and Bill is good to go from here on out – we certainly were relieved to hear he is okay.

Finally, expect to hear Sir Mix-a-Lot on a Round Trip episode too, as well as the full interview appearing on this very website. We’ve been talking with Mix for quite some time and he is excited to join us on Round Trip.

Until next time, Take Care, and keep livin’ the 90’s dream!!!
