Boyz II Men, Madonna & More

We begin this edition with plenty of news about the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

First of all, one of the most deserving 90’s bands of all, Boyz II Men, was awarded with their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this past week. As always, the guys handled it with class, mentioning their fans over and over again. Read more about this, and their brand new album, at www.boyziimen.com

In other Hollywood Walk of Fame news, famed song writer Diane Warren has agreed to join us for the entire show on the weekend of February 11th! Warren is in the Song Writers Hall of Fame and has written virtually every good love song you’ve ever heard. Okay, so that’s a BIT of an exaggeration, but not by much! She has written close to 100 hits and will join us to talk about how the process of writing songs and delivering them to artists works, how she got “the song writing bug” and we’ll also discuss many of the big 90’s songs she wrote (“Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion, “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith, “Unbreak My Heart” by Toni Braxton, “Music of My Heart” by ‘N Sync/Gloria Estefan, etc, etc.). Warren will join us just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Next, how about some more good news for Madonna fans?!? Not only will she be performing during halftime of the Big Game on February 5th, but she’ll also have her 12th studio album coming out by Mid March! It will be called “M.D.N.A.” and the first single will feature Nicki Minaj. How about that – Madonna evolving and working with Nicki! The single will be called “Gimme All You Luvin.” Now, if Madge would just be a little nicer to me girl, Lady Gaga!

Finally, Brandy & Monica recently got into the studio together for the first time since “The Boy Is Mine” in 1998 to record a new track! That’s right, it’s been fourteen years! A producer named Rico Love worked with the duo on the song, which is called “Turn The Lights On.” Look for that single to drop in the next couple of months. It’s supposed to be a nice mix of R&B and Top 40, so hopefully it’ll find its way to the radio.

As always, if you have any questions, suggestions or comments about this, or any other feature on our website or show, please don’t hesitate to e-mail me at daveo@roundtripwithdaveo.com

Keep livin’ the 90’s Dream until next time!
